ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Greenville, Ohio, a small town North of Dayton. I met my wife, Joan, at Ohio University in 1999, and we eventually married and settled in Cincinnati. After spending some time working in the business world, I felt that I had a more important role to play. I have always had a great appreciation for education, so that led to me attending the University of Cincinnati to pursue an education degree.

In 2012, I began my teaching career as a 6th grade reading and social studies teacher in the Hamilton City School District in Hamilton, Ohio. Three years later, I was hired by my current employer, the Southwest Local School District. During my time with Southwest LSD,  I have taught 4th grade math, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade STEAM, and various high school technology courses, including Computer Applications, Website Construction, and Intro to Computer Science. In May of 2020, I graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology with a focus in Information Technology.

Joan and I have a seven year old son, Emory, and a two your old son, Easton. We live in a small town about 20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. Joan is a Speech and Language Pathologist and works for a neighboring school district. Emory and Easton are both typical, energy filled kids. They both love being outside, playing with their cousins, and playing with their mom, dad, and dog, Teddy. As a family, we enjoy camping, going on our annual beach trip to North Carolina, walking in the park next to our house, and cheering for the Cincinnati Reds.
